At Amanohashidate the route includes the 3.6-kilometer sandbar lined with pine trees, a cable car to View Land (self-paid) for panoramic views, and visits to Chion-ji Temple, Monju-do Hall, Amanohashidate Shrine and Isoshimizu Spring; the traditional viewing method of observing the sandbar upside down between the legs is a local practice. The Miyama stop covers Miyama Kayabuki no Sato, a village of over 40 thatched-roof houses with architectural features such as chigi and yukiwari and displays of traditional rural life; local cafés are present.
