Full description

The itinerary starts at the Kachikachi Ropeway at Lake Kawaguchiko, ascending to the observatory at 1,075 meters above sea level with views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko; on clear days the Southern Alps may be visible. The ropeway station and observatory include a Bell of Tenjo and tanuki and rabbit mascots inspired by the folktale Kachikachi Yama. After descending, a local instructor leads a hands-on matcha-making session by the lake that typically takes approximately 10–15 minutes and covers whisking, serving, and tasting; there is time for a lakeside walk. The route includes a stop at the Lawson convenience store facing Mt. Fuji at Kawaguchiko for photographs, followed by a visit to Oshino Hakkai, a village with eight spring ponds fed by Mt. Fuji snowmelt and designated a Natural Monument. Pickup and drop-off from central Tokyo are provided; lunch is not included.
